Have a Lyman 311672 to use in my .308 Win & .30-06. So far using Unique & Red Dot it has not been as accurate for me compared to a Lee 150 RF-GC. Has anyone else had any good results using this bullet in their .308 Win?

Because it is a slightly longer bullet it may require a bit more velocity to stabilize, depending on your load. The nose may be slightly undersize compared to the Lee. Or, something else. Give us some details on your rifle and load.

.

The nose is undersized so it doesn't make contact w/the lands in my Rem 700's...tried 11.5~13 grains of Red Dot. With the larger charge I had many flyers. I have yet to shoot any Unique loads.

11.5 works well, but I was hoping to details from others that have used this bullet in the .308 Win. I don't do any hunting.

Ok. Depending on what I am doing, I load from 5 to 13 gr Red Dot in my 308s and 30-06s.

I don't use the bullet that you are using but it is a 150 gr. I also load a 190 gr.

If I want more velocity, I use Alliant 2400 mostly.

Dufus....using the 150 grain with Red Dot in the .308 & ,30-06...what charge seems to be the most accurate for you. I do well with 11.5 and the Lee 150 RF-GC in the .308 Win.
