JBM is a good one, but you need to know what your muzzle velocity is not what the manufacturers published speed is. Every rifle is different so you need to run your rilfe across a chronograph if you haven't already to get an accurate ballistics chart. Without doing that it is pretty much a shot in the dark as to how accurate the ballistics table will be.
Depends on what model you buy I've got a Chrony Beta Master, and I bought it new in box for $75 US off of another forum it usually retails for around $135 new. I don't know what you have access to in the UK as far as chronographs. I'd see if your local gun club has one that you can use or if anyone there has one they will allow you to use.
Every rifle is a "Law unto itself." There is no way to know what the velocity is or will be without a chronograph. You can get some pretty good info from factory ammo and reloading manuals, but a variance of 100 fps is not unusual.
But as JerryM says, unless you have a chronograph to actually measure velocity it is only an educated guess. It is very common for 2 different rifles to shoot ammo from the same box to different velocities, even with the same barrel length. Around 25-50 fps difference is quite common, but I've seen as much as 130 fps.
