I shoot federal Gold Medal Match 168gr. through my .308 for now because I cant afford to reload, and frankly the GM308M shoots better than me at this time. On their website they have a bullet drop chart, but it is with the gun zeroed at 600 yds. does anyone have any information for the Sierra BTHP 168gr. from 100 out? My gun has a 26" barrel if you need to know that for velocity. Thanks for any info.

YoYo,

Visit the Ultimate Sniper at www.ultimatesniper.com. Once there, click on the Rifles and Shooting link and then click on Extended Ballistic Data For The Federal .308 Match Round. This will probably help answer most of your questions.

You need to at least chrono your rifle for velocity, and at best shoot your own table. Now, given a Vee of 2600fps, the following in MOA (sucessive) should work:

RANGE Come-Up
100-----zero
200-----2.0
300-----3.0
400-----3.5
500-----3.5
600-----4.0
700-----4.5
800-----5.5
900-----6.0
1000----7.0

drop at 1000 yards in MOA= 39.0

Get a good data book (the best IMHO is from TRGT).

Or try it this way ...

Assuming a sight height of 2" above the center of the bore and a muzzle velocity of 2600 fps, the following ranges (yards) and drops (inches) apply:

0 -2
50 +.5
100 +2
150 +1.75
200 ZERO
250 -3.5
300 -9
350 -16
400 -25
450 -36
500 -50
