.308 SBR

I saw a SCAR 17 SBR in .308 with a 13-inch barrel and it made me wonder how loud something like that is. My 10.5 and 7.5 inch uppers for 5.56 are loud enough and I'd never fire a single round from them without ear protection unless I was surrounded by zombies or something similar.

Does anyone have a .308 shorty and is it at all practical? I've seen the HK51K videos and it looks like an awesome range-toy, but that's about it.
 
I technically have a .308 shorty, but it is in NFA jail right now.

My M60 has an assault barrel that is 10.5 inches. I've never hear it discharge, so I'm wondering the same thing. I'll know in 8 months.

I don't notice a decibel difference between my M16 full size and my M16 with a 10.5 inch Commando barrel.
