I just purchased a savage 308 10 FCP. I like the 6x24 50mm XTR Burris Scope but I don't know if this is a good match. Any comments as to weather this is a good scope for the rifle. The scope comes with 1"MOA instead of the 1/4 inch. Any comments?

Do ya have a picture and stats of the scope? What weight bullet you plan to shoot? My .308 10fp likes 168 and above only. (pre acu-trigger)

I like my burris scopes, but I think I would prefer 1/4 MOA adjustments. Check out Vortex at http://www.vortexoptics.com The viper series is very nice and I have one with 4-12x40 pa. and I just ordered another for one of my rifles with 6-20x50 pa with 30 mm tube. Quality is excellent, I think slightly better than Burris. The warranty is awesome, unconditional, forever, even if your not the original buyer. The big chain stores sell them for a little less than the msrp on the website.

Welcome to the forum! I dont think that particular scope will do your rifle justice. Vortex makes decent stuff. Check out the new Redfield line too. Same lifetime warranty as the Vortex, made in the USA!!

24x will work beautifully with your Savage .308.

I too would prefer 1/4 inch adjustments but you're the one who is going to use the scope and adjust it so fit your preferences.

24x magnification gets the most out of my Savage.
I started my 10 FP .308 withy a 15x scope and when I went to 24x it really helped with the longer range accuracy, especially when you are tuning loads at the bench.
