.308 marlin express??

Im new to the board! Ive got a question about my express rifle..Ive been having feeding problems with bullets when I work the lever action on occasion the bullet will get jammed and the lever will lock up all the way open...has anyone had this problem with this rifle or similar marlin lever guns? thanks

Head over to the marlin owners forum. They discuss every issue imaginable with the 308 and 338 Marlin Express rifles. I have one of each, and have had issues with them, but not the jam problem.

You have the Marlin Jam. My .444 did that when I first got it. After a couple trips to the local gunsmith, I sent it back to the factory. They placed a new spring, new carrier and cleaned up the innards somehow and it now works fine. Contact Marlin and they will send a box to send it in and in a couple of weeks they will have it back to working fine. No problems at this point with my Marlin.

Not a lot of lever fans here but the Marlin forum linked above is about the best there is.

A lot of the 308 and 338 MX rifles made in 2009-2010 had defective recievers. You can send it back to the new plant but they will keep your rifle until they start production again. No one knows when that will be. Sucks, I know. I grew up with Marlins and have always loved them. They have had a lot of problems in the last few years. Customer service is not the same as it used to be.
