308 Brass from Starline

You can get them in 250, 500, and 1000 quantity direct from Starline. I ordered the smaller number from Midsouth, though, just to check them out. Their description of using thicker brass does sound like they may have aimed at mil-spec, but the hardness of the head will tell the tale.
 
The headstamp, in the Midsouth page photo is not the familiar star and line symbol used on their handgun brass. It is Starline spelled out.
But on Starline's site, a photo does show the symbol marking.
I am wondering if it is made by someone else for Starline. LC (excess capacity?) comes to mind, and would explain the milspec.

I think the illustrations at Starline's site are computer drawings, while Midsouth has actual photos. They may have planned to use the stars and arc symbol originally and made the drawing that way, but changed it to work-harden the head more. Hatcher described having case heads for the 30-06 additionally hardened by increasing the amount of metal displaced during head stamping. It was the only way he could get a case strong enough to withstand loading to the point it would damage a Garand receiver.
 
No experience with Starline bottleneck brass but I have been reloading 460 S&W mag SL pistol brass with excellent success. The 460 S&W packs some serious pressures and the brass is holding up very well to repetitive sizings and crimps. Primer pockets are also holding up well. Only random issue i'm seeing is a few of my SL 460 casings are getting some odd tarnish discoloring.
