Has anyone here had any experience with this cartridge?..I am thinking of buying a Barrel chambered for it for my Encore and was wondering if any of you more knowledgeable folks have had any eperience with it.

I'd venture to say that 90% or better of all firearms chambered in 300 Whisper are TC Contenders/Encores. It's actually not an uncommon caliber.

The 300 Whisper is another creation of J. D. Jones, of SSK fame. For a in-depth article on this round (and some other fascinating "whisper" cartridges) check Handguns '96 (DBI books). It is a popular and excellent silhouette round, very accurate, enough punch, and very mild recoil and blast. You can reload it with Unique or slower powders, but the best seems to be H110.
You can load it subsonic with heavy SBT bullets (up to 250gr.), but then you'll need a suppressor. SSK can modify an AR15 to fire it, and even fit it with a suppressor if you are willing to register and pay for it. It is super cool, but you have to estimate range very well to hit small targets past 150 yards.
