$300 Winchester Rifle

I was reading the thread about the $400 rifle and It reminded me of something. At one of the local pawn shops is a Winchester (I assume Model 70) bolt action rifle in .300 Win Mag with a synthetic stock and a Simmons 3-9x32. He originally had the rifle for about $400 and I went in there yesterday and he has marked it down to 325 and told me he would take $300 if I wanted it. I have looked it over and it seems pretty tight. So should I get off my butt and go buy it just in case I ever need that big caliber for something. I have been thinking about it and a .300 Mag would not just set in the safe.

What do you all think

Thanks

Well I am almost 100% sure I'm headin over to the store to pick up the .30-06. If I saw a .300 in that price it would lready be bought - I guarantee it :D ! That is one helluva price, especially if the bore and rifling are in good condition. If it looks good and tight to you, I'd say you should be filling out paperwork instead of posting here!

Just my opinion of course. Consider my .02 fee paid.

That is kinda what I'm thinkin but the paycheck comes in on Sunday and the bank doesn't open till Monday so i thought I'd ask all of you.

Went in today and took a second look really hard and I found that the barrel was pitted with rust. I told the store owner and he said it be gone with a few shells through it and I just needed to clean it.

I replied that I think that it should be his job to clean his rifles.

I decided to pass on the gun the last thing I need is another project coming from someone who sells guns for a living and can't maintain them
