300 blackout bullet recommendations.

I would go with Lehigh or outlaw bullets.

I looked at the same thing awhile back but decided to go with supersonic due to cost of the bullets.

Jacketed subsonic, Sierra 220 gr. Matchking BTHP. Expensive though at
40-some dollars per 100. Great bullet though for subsonic loads with AA1680 powder.

OP just be mindful that these won't expand. Not sure if that matters to you or not.

If expansion isn't required then the 208 gr AMAX is another good alternative.

I bought some nosler 190gr bthp for $150/1000 awhile back. They would cycle my 16" carbine gassed gun but I was running a suppressor. Never tried it without one.

None of these will expand and will most likely just punch a nice 30cal hole in the target.

Are you required to use expanding bullets? What type of game?

In most cases, the typical bullets will not expand nor be ethical hunting bullets at SubSonic velocities. Unfortunately, lots of people have figured this out the hard way with lots of game needlessly suffering. The SMKs mentioned above fit in that category. That is why most people end up going with SuperSonic loads for hunting.

The bullets that do expand at SubSonic are very expensive. But there are also a lot of people talking about the "modern 30-30" and hunting who have no real world understanding or experience. If you will search, you can find several people disappointed in the round with SubSonic performance on game.

Agree, the Sierra MK's and few others would be good for hunting at subsonic velocity. Didn't see that they were for hunting, only a good subsonic bullet.

I don't understand the need to use subs to hunt with, the supersonic crack just isn't that loud and you're taking your near 30/30 energy/momentum/power and dropping it to near 45 acp levels.

"It's a Daniel defense 16" barrel. Going to be developing a load for hunting"

Unless you choose one of the bullets specifically designed to expand at subsonic velocities, I CANNOT RECOMMEND ANY SUBSONIC HEAVY BULLET LOAD.

Does it really matter? I didn't post on here to debate with you on wether or not to use subsonic or supersonic. I asked for recommendations and if you have none please move along.

My recommendation would be to not use subsonics for anything other than small game.
