300 black out brass

I recently have been comparing various brands of brass--as well as recycling some 223 cases--and have made an interesting discovery: upon buying some very cheap Remington ammo at wally world and shooting it (the remmie ammo living up to it's mediocre performance that I usually expect from their offerings) I discovered the brass is quite nice--and is apparently made by Barnes since that's what's headstamped on em.

Not sure that's a great plan but if it works for you, it's OK with me.
Buying and shooting mediocre ammo for the brass seems less than cost effective.
I bought several thousand brass @ $100/K(average) last year and it seems to be satisfactory for my needs.

I just bought the remmie stuff to see what it was like--and it fulfilled my expectations--not great. I reload mostly--but am always curious what commercial offerings are like in comparison. Every now and then I find some really outstanding shooting stuff at a cheap price--like hornady's 300 wm American Whitetail--at it's price point it is excellent quality and hard to beat price-wise with reloads
