300 AAC/BLK Loads

Any one got any tested or secret 300 loads as I will be receiving my jig to cut .223 brass down and want to work up loads for my 300. Sub and/or supersonic?
 
I downloaded the Siarra data from thier site . Good Powder for it has been hard to find . Im always checking for IMR4227 and LILGUN .
 
Pistol of carbine length gas tube?
Barrel length?
Suppressed?

These are the three biggest factors in working up or I should say working down subsonic loads. For supersonic loads these factors are less critical. Depending on the bullet weight and which barrel length I am running the powders I've had the most success with are H110/W296, Lil'Gun, 4227, RE7, and A1680.
 
10" pistol, currently not surpressed, eventually it will be. I recently bought a pound of IMR4227 and H110. I have tons of primers just curious on the bullet grain. I just got my Squirrel Daddy mount and ready to cut some brass.
 
Check out 300blktalk.com. Lots of load info there. The 300blk has become my favorite AR cartridge.

For Supersonics i run 125gn Sierra over either 4227(mild load) or W296 if im after speed. The cheapest route is to use 150gn pulls, but they dont get the velocity of the lighter bullets

For Subsonics i load 208gn Hornady A-max over 1680. Lots of guys like the 220gn Sierra but it costs more and they are harder to find in bulk.

Its a fun cartridge and a hoot suppressed. Enjoy it
 
Second that .300blktalk.com lots of info there . Even found some info using unique but light loads only . Im looking to get the most out of 150 grain loads but powder has been a problem .
 
I like 2.5g of Red Dot behind a 110g plated RN bullet. It's a light plinker load but probably won't cycle an AR...

That is a VERY light Subsonic load to shoot out of a single shot or boltgun. Never function an AR with that load.

Some guys are getting AR's to function with bullets as light as 190 gn as subsonics. Sticking to ~210 and heavier with A1680 powder will give a load that works without issue
 
a fun accurate bullet is the lapua 100gr "cutting-edge", very short but still reliable in mine. 20gr of Hodgdoon'd Lil' Gun gets it going over 2kFPS from an 8" barrel.

110gr VMAX is very accurate, I am not set up to test accuracy very well, only have a non-braced pistol with a reflex. 110VMAX with 19.5 H110. 50yards



look to stock up on lil' gun, H110 and H4227. 4227 is great for larger bullets, does not due well with 150 and under bullets due to case capacity.
I have not played with any factory sub-sonic bullets yet, I just cast mine with the Lee 230gr mold, powdercoated. cheap and effective
 
My .300 Blackout is a single shot. The Red Dot loads are like .22LR in a center fire rifle... Fun plinkers that are easy on the shoulder.

I love the BLK, it's become one or my favorite calibers and platforms - hands down. For supers in my SBR I'm mostly loading bulk 147-150 grainers over 16-17 grains or H110. That's an above max load, but a common one if you look around. Still, you'd want to reduce and work up to max. For sub's in the same gun I've loaded everything from the 208 AMAX to the 225 BTHP and 247 NOE cast and powder coated bullet. I've tried to make H1110/296 work, but it just doesn't generate enough gas to run reliably for me. In the AR the only powders I've been able to make run subsonic consistently and reliably are 1680 and H4198.
 
I have 3 300 blackouts now. It is my fun cartidge. The powder is there, it just takes time. I have 8lb kegs of 300 MP, Lil Gun,H110 and 1680. I'am currently loading 110 Sierra, 125 TNT,Nosler 110 and resized 123 VMAX. Currently acquiring a suppressor and looking to into subsonic fun.
