Just a quick update on loading for and shooting my old Model G. I made up a varitity of light loads(starting load data for 30/30) using Win 748 and AA2495BR with 110-150 grain bullets. EVERY single load cycled the gun perfectly! Either this is a good one or the rifle has gotten a bad rap.
My Grandpa always loved this old auto and now I know why. Most of the 60 rounds where made up and shot in 5 shot groups, all at 50 yards with banged-up original sights. They averaged about 1.25 inch and ranged from .75" to 1.75" usually with 1 flyer stretching the group out. Since I don't see the sights to well anymore, I figured this old rifle is a pretty good shooter.
I want to thank all for the info I needed , especially JIM KEENAN.
Thanks, PETE
