One of the main reasons U.S. army adopted the Mauser variant, 1903 Springfield was the lack of a practical way of clip or charger loading the Krag.
Jim Watson is right..these are rare..there was a reproduction made on one of the other forums, I seem to remember.
WHEN I was shooting competition with an 1898 Krag carbine I could speed load it with five from my right hand as fast as any of the '03 boys could do with a stripper clip. To be truthful I do NOT remember one of 'em EVER beating me. AND I do know for a fact that my Krag carbine could outshoot any of their collection of '03 rifles. This is also the reason the Krag was outlawed at Camp Perry in 1908.
