30-06 and ABLR 190s

Hi all,

Was curious if anyone has any experience with shooting the 190 ABLRs thru their 30-06. I found a few at a reasonable price but wanted to see if anyone else had any success with them. My main concern is my barrel being able to stabilize them. I have a 11 inch twist barrel. The Berger stability calc gives it a stability factor of 1.34, marginal stability. Any advice would help!

Thanks in advance!

A 190 will be fine out a .30-06. Browning used 1 in 11 twist for .30-06 for years. Buckets of data on Hodgdon's site.
Wouldn't put too much faith in on-line calculators.

smoothie25, I run Berger twist calculator on my hunting bullets and use Nosler 150gr ABLR in 270 and 270Wby and the 150gr ABLR in 284.

I haven't tried 190gr ABLR but did twist calculator on 26" barrel 30-06 with Bartlein 1/11.25R twist barrel and 30-338mag with 26" 1/11 twist Lilja barrel and 30-06 SG was 1.71. 30-338mag I settle on Hornady 200gr ELD-X bullet.

I shoot around 7800ft here in Co and I'm kind of guessing your lower elevation.

Nosler has a forum and moderator are pretty helpful.

I use that bullet with IMR 7828 and it is consistant, but my 700 is a 1:10" twist 24" factory barrel.
I'm not in my loading room so I don't have specifics, but It's not a max load, I rarely use max loads in my rifles...

I'm sitting about 500 ft above sea level so that plays a big factor. I may just have to buy a box and try them out. I have some 168 etip loaded which I haven't shot yet so waiting to see how those group. Ironically, the etips have about the same stability rating of the ABLRs.

I shot about a dozen I loaded up last week. The 190 aclr did an excellent job in my 10 twist Remington. Out past 250 yards is where they really shined. Guess that's why it's named accubond long range. H4831 sc powder and seated to mag length. I was impressed.
