I looking for a 3 in revolver for a ccw and thought I would ask around to see if any one on here caries one or could give any recomendations. thanks.

I carry a S&W Model 60 with a three inch barrel. For a carry gun it is absolutely superb. Although I have a number of holsters for it, my current method of CCW carry is to use a CLIPDRAW and carry the J-frame Mod. 60 IWB. This revolver functions really well with 125 g., HPJ, Golden Saber 38+P's so that is what I carry in it. I recommend it highly.

I carry either a 3-inch Moddel 65 Ladysmith or a 3-inch SW-66-2, depedning on the mood.

K-frame Smiths with a 3-inch tube are just the cat's meow in my book. Pair it with some Comp I speedloaders and you've got a great defense rig.

One advantage of the 3" K-and-bigger frames is the full length extractor rod, which sure helps get hot empties out positively.

Another vote for a LadySmith. Get an older one if you can with the hammer-mounted firing pin and no MIM parts. They come with a really smooth action job from the factory so they require no extra work other than maybe a set of real grips. I like mine a lot but haven't had much chance to carry it.

My Model 65 is one of the older ones. It came with a 4 inch barrel. A few years back, I sent it to S&W for a rebuild. Now it has a heavy 3 inch barrel, and has been converted to DAO, with a factory bobbed hammer. This is one sweet shooting little revolver now. The grips are Hogue LamoCamo.

I have carried a Charter Arms bull dog pug .44spl since 1992. It has a 2.25'' barrel and I have added Pacmayer grips. It is the most abused gun I have ever owned and has never failed me. I have other guns I carry from time to time, but the bulldog sees more belt action than the other gun I have.

I sometimes carry my M629 in three inch. I say sometimes as it it is big and heavy but easier to carry concealed than I would have thought.
I often carry my Colt Detective Special in 2 1/2 inch. It's the second I've owned and is a nice carry gun even if the cylinder latch and rotation is backwards from my S&W's.
I've been looking for a nice P&R M-19 in 2 1/2 inch for some time now. I have one in four inch but find it a tad long for concealed carry.
