I'm in the market for a new upper and unfortunately cost is big factor - the closer to $700 the better.
I'm looking for at least MOA accuracy the lighter the better, though weight is not the overriding factor. I'll be running it with a 2.5x10 scope and an offset RDO, and all going on an existing lower with a Jewell trigger (which I like a great deal). Targets will routinely be out to 300 yards, and I have opportunities to make it out to 600 occasionally, because of that I think I need at least an 18" barrel. I will also be handloading for it.
Right now my top two choices are the new Stag 3G and a RRA 20" Predator Pursuit. Also considering a WOA build using the 20" SDM barrel on an otherwise normal WOA varmint upper.
I'm leaning heavily towards the 3G because I like the rail vs. a tube and it comes with a brake and I think it will come in slightly lighter than the other two. I think the cost between the three will be similar and I believe performance will be similar as well - I don't think I can wrong with any of these three.
However, I'm sure there are considerations I'm forgetting, so your input is appreciated.
