3.5"

I like the super Nova it comes with a recoil reducer. I have a regular Nova with a recoil reducer in mine and I can bang 3.5 all day long, just cant afford them.

Mossberg 835 IMO...and then the Knoxx recoil reducing stock...the 835 has the over-bored birdshot barrel and you can get a rifle slug barrel for it as a combo package SWEET DEAL

I'm a big 870 fan, but if I insisted on shooting 3.5" shells it would be out of the Benelli after I replaced the recoil pad. The optional mercury recoil reducer weighs 1/2 lb. Making an already heavy gun even heavier.

I've had both the Nova and the 870 super mag. The new limbsaver pads make a huge difference without adding weight to the gun. Both guns are now gone. I have no use for the 3.5" shells.

Look over at Shotgun World Forum & other forums. See what those 3 1/2 " shells do to the longevity of a shotgun.

Worst ever........

hardest kicking shotgun I've ever fired was a Mossberg 3.5 pump(alloy receiver), and Rem 3.5 pump steel Rem not far behind.

I'm thinking gas operated semi if they make one?

Benelli Nova tactical (HD) and Beretta A391 Extrema (hunting) handle 3.5" shells quite well. But I actually only use 3.5" for turkey hunting, and only with the first shot in the chamber. It really isn't needed for most bird hunting, and definitely not needed for HD.
