3" 20g slugs

I'm looking into running 3" slugs through my gun. its smooth bore so im looking for a rifled slug. the only ones i can find are super-x 3/4oz. rifled h.p. slugs and brenneke magnum 1oz. it seems that the super-x have more energy (324ft/s more at muzzle) and velocity (239ft/lbs more at muzzle) but its also 1/4oz. lighter.

i dont know which way i want to go. its a semi auto smooth bore and its going to be shot at deer :)

its either spend a little bit more on ammo to cycle properly (without jams) or spend $50 on another mag. i choose ammo

what would you go with on the slugs?? and why....
 
I regularly buy the 5 pack of Federal 7/8ths ounce slugs for under 4 bucks. I can make a 6 inch group not even really trying to get real tight at 60 yards from my Mossberg 500 20 gauge 18 inch cylinder bore...

im looking for 3" slugs not 2 3/4"

i also looked on federal's website and couldn't find any 3 in riffled slugs

I would go with the Brennekes. In my own little world, weight nearly always trumps velocity, within reason of course. Brennekes have an excellent reputation for construction as well. At typical smoothbore shotgun ranges the extra weight is not going to equate into significantly larger groups.
 
im thinking that im going to get a box of both and throw em down the tube. i figure $15 in wasted ammo is better than going with one shell and haveing it not cycle properly if i need that second shot

I noticed that I had trouble cycling 3" magnums quickly in my Mossberg too after a couple have been through the barrel. I don't think you'll notice a performance difference in the 3" and 2-3/4". If you need a follow up shot, I can certainly get off two 2-3/4" sluggers a hell of a lot quicker than I can with the 3-inchers.
 
im having feed issues in my saiga. the only way to fix the problem is buy a mag for 2 3/4 shells (or perm. modify the mag i have) or run 3" shells through the stock 3" mag

when using 2 3/4" in the stock 3" mag, when the bolt pushes the shell forward the nose of the shell catches on the top feed tangs and jams the gun. its simple to unjam its just anoying
