If I remember correctly, I shot 28 out of 40 clays. Still getting use to my new/old purchase of a Win model Ranger 120 with a combo barrel.

I've been studying Youtube videos on this sport and they have been very informative...when you consider, that 2 wks back, I didn't hit ONE clay.

A couple of times when I missed on the 1st shot, I quickly followed up with another pump and I nailed it..I thought this was the best when being able to quickly follow up with another shot and score a hit. We were using Winchester 2 3/4 -l ounce loads. The 1100 autoloader that my brother has, only auto loads 3 inch shells, so we did some 3 inch 00 buc for someother targets and that was some hard hitting shells.

My brother never seems with his Rem 1100 autoloader 12guage magmum. Anyway..I thought I would share a newcomers adventure of clay shooting and value of Youtube for all it's informative videos on this sport.
Im ready for Pheasant and Turkey hunting in a few weeks.

Good to see this,Matty. A couple things...

Firing 00 into the air in any area as densely populated as MD is not a good idea.

Videos are helpful, but a lesson from a qualified instructor is priceless.

My offer is still open. Most Fridays I shoot at PGC and will be happy to meet you and critique your form, fit and technique.

You are doing one thing right. You're shooting.....

Make sure you get proper instruction, as Dave suggests, before you ingrain BAD habits that are hard to break.

Glad to see another shooter....and welcome!

Thanks for the tips ! Let me clarify about the 00 buc, we were not shooting clays with those, just stationary targets. Also, we were not in MD, I go up to PA for this, lots of space up there. ;)

Thanks for the clarification, Matty.

It matters little what kind of shooting one does, it matters that you're shooting, safely.

Dave McC, thanks for the offer. My work schedule has me from 8 to 4:30pm M-Fr. I would have to take off from work to meet up..let me see down the road. ;)
