2nd Shotgun Suggestions

Wifey has some bonus money and offered to spring for a second shotgun for me since she knows I've been thinking about getting one.

My current shotgun is a Remington 870 Police Magnum 12-gauge pump shotgun with Ghost Ring sights, a Surefire weaponlight forend - all acquired from Vang Comp after last year's SHOT Show.

If I go with a semi-auto shotgun, what brand / model do you suggest?

If you have the money then get a Benelli, they the finest autoloading in the world. Remington 1100 is your best bet if you don't have the money for a Benelli!

What's the mission of the semi?

For clays and birds, leading contenders would include Winchester's X-2, its sibling Browning Gold, Beretta's 391, and the ubiquitius Remingtons.

For 3 gun, Benelli.

Pick the one that FEELS best....

If your gonna use it to hunt and dont want to spend the money on the looks of the shotgun but the function go with the Remington 11-87 or 1100. Im not saying there is anything wrong with the other brands just hard to convince myself to pay twice as much or more for a shotgun when the Remington 11-87 I own has been an outstanding gun for the money.

Lots of parts will interchange between an 870 and a 1100. IMHO forget the 11-87. I'd get a Rem choked 1100 Vent rib 26-28" , used like new would be nice. You could get a magnum (most are 30" or 28" full choke) and buy a Rem choke 2 3/4" barrel, then you'd have a nice duck and turkey AND upland gun! :)
