I heard this twice this AM on my radio...

Amending the 2nd Amendment -- Commentator Joe Davidson discusses a Texas court
case that may redefine the limits of the 2nd Amendment to the Constitution. Davidson says
that poor wording leaves the 2nd Amendment open to misinterpretation. He says the
amendment really applies to citizen militias, ie, the National Guard, not to individual gun
owners. (2:59)
 
Neal Knox did a NPR interview once and apparently did not have anyone who could seriously refute him. I've ask for transcript. It might be up at his web site soon.

As for National Guard argument - I would dare those people to put that argument up in a town hall meeting against some of the Standard Model people.

Misinterpretation, hell.

These idiots are not, and don't want to be, familiar with the public documents and personal writings of the men who CREATED the Constitution and the Bill of Rights.

If they were, they would have no doubt that the BoR is about PERSONAL protections, not nebulous collective rights.

They ONLY misinterpretation that is being done is by these people, and it's being done on purpose.

Agreed with Mr. Irwin. NPR is ignorant because it wants to be.

For NPR, the rule is not "I'll believe it when I see it." Instead, it's "I'll see it when I believe it." And I think that's the way it is with most anti-rights people.

Interperet the 2nd any way you want, it doesn't matter.

Read the 9th. It protects your RKBA for EVERY OTHER PURPOSE UNDER THE SUN (Hunting, self-defense, collecting, cause the pretty bullets make you happy, whatever).
