29-2 Factory Re-Furb

Sent this back to S&W one day short of a month ago. Estimate covered re-blue and replace hand as it was on the edge of failure to carry up. This was no real problem but was a potential problem. When the repair guy got inside, he found that somebody had performed an act of sodomy on the trigger. filed away at the front of it as seen in the second picture but left the sear alone. So, they replace the trigger at no added cost and send back the old one to keep me from thinking they had harvested the old forged part and replaced it with MIM.

the gun is now tight as new and I am not put off by the MIM Trigger as I know the parts hold up well on .22's .

No problem. Most of the things I do in regard to my Smiths make no economic sense at all. Nevertheless I do belive this work was a bargain considering the quality polish they did. ( The SW cartouche is actually quite a bit more prominent than it looks in the picture - reflections, you know.) I spent a bit over 200 including shipping both ways and replacing the hand. They found out about the trigger later and didn't charge for it. I believe the quote on the refinish job was $160 and given the agrevation of dealing with bluing salts now, this is right in line with what a lot of commercial refinishers are charging. Fifty and One Hundred doller blue jobs are a thing of the past.

I'd have to say those two are keepers ;)
Looks like the factory refurb was worthwhile and well worth the money spent. :)

Mike,

What grips are on the 4"? Are those Eagles as well?
