280 Rem to AI

You'll pick up about 100 fps. Whether or not it's worth it is your call. Some like AI chamberings, others not so much.

Ain't enough sugar for a dime.

Like Scorch said, 100fps. If you look at Nosler 5&6, they have the 280 in 26" and the AI in 24". Velocities about the same. You'd spend about the same for a longer barrel as you would a custom chambering job. I had a 280 26" barrel put on a Mark X and the chrono velocities were within 3 fps of the Nosler book with 2 different powders.

1)Have a 7 STW & 7-08.
2) Thanks guys for the info.
3) Nobody said anything about AI accuracy vs. the .280. Would I pick up anything with the conversion (BDL)? I'm more concerned about accuracy. I have a 6.5 Swede that shoots 2" 5 shot groups at 300. Would this be as good or better?
