28 Gauge side by side?

I want to get a 28 sxs. Knowing that you usually get what you pay for,I have seen on the net a Mossberg Silver Reserve & a Charles Daly Field II Grade, both in the $800 range. I think that they are both made in Turkey. Does anyone have any firsthand knowledge about either? I have a Citori o/u in 28 & don't expect either to be of that quality.

That Bernardelli is really nicely engraved, although a bit much. I have seen on several forums that the CZ's have problems with breaking firing pins. Thanks all.

Ugartechea

I would look for a used, but in good shape Ugartechea Grade 1 28 ga. You should be able to find one near your price range that is basically a new gun.

Spanish doubles are some of the best values in the sxs arena and the Ugartechea is the best of them all dollar for dollar.

A new one will only run you $1400 and a used one should be under $1000. Mine swings as sweet as the English Best Churchill 28 ga it sits next to in the safe.

Just my .02 cents

The Ugartechea sure is a nice looking gun. The #2 is only $400 more than the #1 & it has the coin finished receiver. I will see if I can find one. Thanks!

keggin:

We need lots of pictures of that Churchill. Sorry for the derail

Also, to get back on the rails: Really? I'd like to see a 28 ga. Uga for $1,000. I'd hop on that.
