.270 bullet molds????

Is there such a thing? For as long as I have been casting and reloading, I have never owned anything in 270. Brother in law is getting the itch, so I thought I'd try to find a mold. LEE lists nothing in .270. I looked at the LYMAN site, and only find 6.5 and 7mm listings. Heck, I don't even know what a .270 boolit mics. Are they around .276 or so, like a 30 caliber is actually slightly larger than it's namesake. I feel really silly for not knowing this, but I am drawing a blank, or having a brainfart in my old age.

If ya think 277" stuff is hard to come by try 6mm/243.

But I know why , the 243 is a finicky little rascal to cast for !!!

May I strongly suggest keepin a good log of what ya do ,even from mixing alloys to final loading .

Here`s a link that may be intresting http://www.three-peaks.net/bullet_molds.htm

Pathfinder,

If'n ya locate it, take me a pic, or post the Lyman moulg #. I have an old Lyman mold pic book, it might be in there. I infer that you might part with it, eh?

Lyman 270 Winchester mould

I'm back. The mould is a Lyman .270 caliber, gas check, silhouette, 150 grain, 280642. I also have an almost full box of Lyman 270 gas checks. I bought the mould new and have used it but little. It's the mould blocks only, as the handles are on another mould that gets used often. I have a lifetime supply of jacketed 270 bullets and thus don't use the mould. I could say I might use it someday....but I don't think so. Maybe I'll take pix of it tomorrow.
