26 or 27

I already have a Glock 23 in .40.
I'm thinking of buying a mini-Glock. I'd kind of like to get the 26 in 9mm to lessen recoil from such a small gun, but on the other hand I've already got too many different calibers of gun!

Who has experience with these? Is there really much difference in the shooting experience?

Several months ago I purchased a G26. I liked it so well that the following week I got the G27. They are both great guns. The G26 outshoots my G19 and the G27 outshoots the G23 that I owned in the past. I have about 1000rds thru both now and each has been 100% reliable. I just got back from the range shooting the G26.If I could only keep just one it would be the G26. Slightly more accurate but don't ask me again tomorrow because I will be shooting the G27 then.

Oh by the way - Recoil with either is no problem. Don't let that be the deciding factor. There are some present comments on this board by some new G27 owners. Everyone seems well pleased with either.

I've had my G27 for almost three years. It's never had a malfunction of any type. It's my favorite pistol. I had Trijicon night sights installed and it gives me great comfort when, in a dark motel room, I look at the night stand and see my 27 looking back at me. :)
I like the Federal 135gr. "PD" Hydra-Shoks the best. The recoil seems to be about the same as the G26. Sometimes I wonder if I ought to purchase the Wolf recoil springs, but since I have had no problem with the stock stuff, why change?

I have both a G23 and G26. I find that I can shoot my G26 with cor-bon 115 grain rounds much more accurately than the G23. With this gun and ammo combo I never feel under gunned. Thus my nod would go to the G26, though you don't lose out any way that you go.

If you are going to be shooting it a lot, I'd go with the G26 cause of cheaper ammo. If you are going to be shooting little and carrying a lot (and in bad places), I'd go with the G27 cause of better stopping power.

I've been carrying a G26 for the last three months. I really like this sized pistol. If I was in a bad neighborhood, i'd have prob gotten a G27 for the "better bullet".

I would go with the Glock 27 because although they will hang down, you can use your Glock 23 mags in it.

I've had both, love 'em. I can shoot either very well. I decided to carry the 26 as I have some wrist problems and the 40 SW is a little of an ouch after the accident which broke my
dominant wrist.

Before then , no sweat.

I just purchased a Glock 27. Never owned a Glock before and I love this one :D Did very well on the range with it and did not mind the recoil. I did better with this then my Beretta 8040. Also you can get the .357 Sig barrel for this which I probably wiil do in time :) I'd go for the 27 you won't be disappointed :) And thats coming from someone who would never own a Glock

Hope this helps :)
Happy Shooting :)

Greetings All; I purchased a NIB G-27 in the
summer of 96. Boy, she's a joy to carry concealed; and not very discomforting to
shoot. Got her loaded with 165 grain Cor-Bon's!!! :D Wish everybody could afford one? :)

Best Wishes,

Make sure you get the adjustable sight version of which ever one you get. If you get a 27 you'll also want a .357 sig Barrel. That caliber change will require a sight adjustment, thus the need for adjustable sights.

Get the pearce extra round grip extensions if you get a 27. Get the pearce non-extra round grip extensions if you get the 26.

I bought a 27, two guns in one with a barrel change. My next gun is a 26.
