25 20 load data for Sierra 75 gr. HP

There's .25-20, 75 grain, load data on Hodgdon's site. You do not need manufacturer specific data.
Isn't safe to use an HP in a lever action tube mag if that's your firearm.

Sierra, huh? I have fired those from a Savage 23B bolt action, over H4198 if I recall. The problem with that gun is they load too long for the mag. Single round only, and no advantage over Speer's 75 designed for the 25-20. Those Sierras are HP spitzer, and as Mr. O'Heir says no go in a tube mag.

If you're bound and determined and willing to fire single rounds, look up H4198 data on Hodgdon. As I recall, the Speer and Sierra gave about the same velocity with the same charge of H4198. But I quickly sent the Sierras to 257 Roberts duty. You'd do better to get some of the Speer. They tested in a modern Marlin '94, and those bullets are safe in a tube.

I am sorry but I went to the Speer website and Midway and can not find any Speer bullets for the 25 20. Thank You for your suggestion.

ligonierbill, Those bullets would be great, but Speer does not make them any more. Checked inventory at Graf and Sons and Midway and another supplier, not even listed as an option!Do you have new old stock in your inventory? I would sure appreciate any help from anyone as to what is available for bullets and powder data. Thank You for all your help.

Hornady still makes a 60 gr FN for 25-20. Meister sells a 0.258 85 gr cast. Also check Buffalo Arms. Powder Valley still shows the Speer 75 on their list, but out of stock.

I have not loaded the Hornady, but the Meister goes 1,667 avg over 10.8 gr H4198 and CCI 400 from the Savage.

Looks like we're screwed. I've shot Speer 75 SP (best for 1892s) for years. I guess just keep scouring the internet vendors. Apparently they aren't a big seller so you never know who might have some on a back shelf. Also, check out Gunbroker. They sometimes have them. Some sellers have 25-20 brass and also have bullets, just keep checking back. It's also a good idea to buy brass when you find it. It doesn't last too long, the necks usually split and I have been known to bugger some up. Its not the easiest round to reload.
