24k Gold Desert Eagle . . . Ugh!

Just today saw a 24k Gold Deseart Eagle in my gun dealer's case. What a monstrosity. Everything outside was gold plated. And I thought I had bad taste.

Well, in that case go get yourself one of the black DE's. 'Cos somedays you feel like a pimp, somedays you don't.

Hey!

Really, I have no use whatsoever for a Desert Eagle. If I ever have the excess cash to shell out for one, you better believe it will be for the gold plated one. I'd get one made of 24K, if possible. With mastadon ivory grips.

You need to get it so you can have the sights mounted on the left side so when you point it home-boy style (sideways) you can be accurate.

That sounds like a little excess, but then again so is a DE. Which is why I have one.
Are you sure it was all gold and not the titanium finish they are pushing. They have gone from a matte finish on the titanium to a polished finish.

But they do push a goldplated pimp gun..along with others..

A dealer in a southern Cleveland (OH) suburb has one. It's titanium nitride (TiN) coated, not gold. Sure is pimpy lookin', but then again ....

For what a Desert Eagle costs, I think that if I was going to invest in one, I would go all the way and get the gold plated one. Why not?

why not, well for a blued one in whatever cal you lookin at around 800-1000 bucks.how about twice that and then some for the golden boy.

I think in open-carry states, carrying a DE on a thigh holster would be a great deterent to BG's.Perhaps I'll do that when i move outta state. Then the wife will think I'm REAL MAN:D

My DE is a .50 in the Bright Chrome finish. I'm in Miami, and down here the word "excess" isn't considered a bad thing!

I think the DE is awesome! Just try shooting a .50 one day. Knock 'em all you want, but just think about all the giggling you'll be missing if you don't shoot one.

I know a guy who carries one concealed in Alaska. I don't know how. He's a big guy, but not as big as me and I wouldn't want to do it.

It was definitely a 24K DE I saw. In fact, it was sitting right next to one of the Titanium finish ones. The dealer had about 11 DE's, all in a line in the case. The 24K was noticeably different from the Titanium one.

Patton's comment about his Ivory handled revolver comes to mind. In response to a question about his pistol with pearl grips, Patton quipped that only a pimp in a New Orleans whorehouse would carry a pistol with pearl grips.

I guess some things never change in gun culture.
