Which one would be the better man stopper?

Lol, sorry had to get into all these VERSUS acts.

Well, in my experience one shot from the 458 Win Mag stopped me from wanting to shoot any more of those jumbo calibers just for the heck of it. John

I believe the 22LR would have great stopping power if you dumped a box of them down the barrel of a loaded 416 Rigby.

This thread is silly.

What we need is a new topic to find out which one would be best if you ran into a crazed grizzly bear.

Or which one would be best in a pocket pistol in the event that you were in a country bar and had just told the biggest guy there how much his gal looked like a horse you used to have.

I would guess off hand that it would be the one that ended up in the CNS, but I think that would mean taking the question way too seriously.

Depends on if there is more then one of them.If more then one can you get them lined up for one shot?If can't the 22lr.Reason recovery time for the 458 is about 5 min.
PS SHot a 510 express twice. No more.Getting to old and beat up.

Hey, do you have to drag bestiality into this nice forum!

Placement is key true, but a .416 Rigby knicking my ear would probably make me passout (after I peed my pants).

I'm gonna go with the Rigby for now; however it the comparison was with a .22WMR, now that would be a different story... ;-}

I'm just surprised one of the "light and fast" guys hasn't posted the formula for his special hot-shot hand loaded JHP .22LR's that weighs 25gr and travels at mach seven and hits with the same foot-pounds-of-energy as an asteroid...

25gr X 9999fps = 5551 ftlbs. or something

Take the long way home...

Well, more people are killed by .22 so i guess, since more people are stopped by it, .22 is the superior manstopper. Sorry, just using anti's statistical logic.

So what would do more damage to a beach head, the USS Irwin with 5 5in. 38 cals or the New Jersey with 9 16in 50 cals. Or a 100 lb cluster bomb vs a 10 megaton hydrogen bomb. :) :) :)Godzilla VS Mothra? :) :) :) And more people are killed by deer than any other animals too, the car and the deer also die in most cases. :)

Erich,

I own and shoot a Ruger #1H in .460 Weatherby, have no reason to whine, the thing is fun to shoot.

Using the military's reasoning process (?) the 22lr is better because you can carry more.
I think the dump truck delivery method would work best is the target would hold still. :D
