Hey guys and gals im new to this forum but not to shooting. Anyways I recently got a new Browning Buckmark for my 22nd birthday/christmast and I took it shooting for the past two weeks. Every time I shot it the magazines would drop out of the gun. Right now I have four magazines for it and it does it on all of them. Forget about it when I try some CCI Stingers, they automatically drop. One time I loaded a mag of Remington Golden Bullets and the first shot the mag dropped straight into the dirt, i was ******. As of now I have it boxed up and waiting for the prepaid Label from Browning to get here before I ship it back to them. My father has a Ruger MK3 and I shot that a whole bunch and liked it but I now have fallen in love with my buckmark. My father says that he will trade in my buckmark and buy me a Ruger mk3 if i want to. For the past couple of days I have been going back and forth holding my buckmark and my dads ruger. This is driving me crazy!!! What do yall think I should do???

Thanks,
and sorry for the long post.

I agree with the others. I'd say let Browning fix it and then after you get it back if all is good then see how it compares with your dad's Ruger. You may end up falling for your Browning and unwilling to give it up for a Ruger.

Thanks guys for the help I knew something was wrong with it. And my dad told me the same thing, bout waiting for it to come back from Browning and seeing if they fixed it.

Thanks guys

Id take a Buckmark over a Ruger any day, even as much as i like my S&W .22a is great ill trade it for a Buckmark any day.
Speaking of that,i should trade up for a new gun and get the .22 i originally wanted.
I got this one while i was window shopping at a local Gander MTN and a guy was wanting to trade it in and they wouldn't give him what he wanted,$160 later i had a nearly new .22a wich he just used to take his ccw course with.

Normally i wouldn't trade a gun in,but im getting a few more than i really can shoot and 1 .22 is enough.

There is obviosly something wrong with the gun, sounds like a broke mag catch. Now, Ive never shot a buckmark, but I have shot a Ruger MK 4, and it was the best shooting, most accurate handgun Ive ever shot. I love the fixed barrel autos anyway, but I could hit a clay pidgeon hanging on a post at 70 yards with it. (that was when I was a teen, though, much sharper eyesight). I wouldnt turn down a buckmark, But I would love to own a MK 4 again!

I've had two Buckmarks, great .22. I would go to rimfirecentral.com forum and then the Browning forum. There are guys on there that know how to fix anything on these guns. You also will learn about the Heggis flip, which will drop your trigger pull down to 2 or so lbs. Chim is one of the most knowledgeable and has a lot of pics on mods and repairs.

I have a Buckmark and a Ruger MkII, both with 5.5" bull barrels and target sights. Both are good shooters and usually go to the range together, even when I bring the S&W 41. I had a 22a, I don't think I'd do that again. The ones I have are much better.
