.22LR CCI Std Velocity - 32 vs 35

I did a few searches, but I can't seem to find an answer to this...

Does anyone know if there's a difference between CCI SV #32 in the plastic box and #35 in the cardboard box?

Thx - DT

I would say no.

If you go to CCI's website, you'll find they list the same velocity of 1000 and some odd fps for their Standard Velocity, Green Tag, and Blazer lines of ammunition. Yes folks, Blazer is standard velocity ammo too!

Externally, I never could tell a difference between the product lines. Blazer looks identical to Green Tag and SV on the outside. Same cases, same bullet alloy.

My guess is the price difference comes from sorthing cartridges with the most consistent weights and thrown charges, etc.

To the best of my knowledge there's no difference between the two loads, other than the packaging. I was told at one time that the 50-round cardboard box variety was packaged that way for the European market, but I can't verify that. I also don't understand why (around here at least, when you could find it) the cardboard packaging was always considerably less expensive than the plastic. I used both interchangeably in my Walther GSP in Bullseye competition and never noticed any difference in performance. I've since switched to the Aguila SV that CMP sells, which is about as cheap as .22 ammo gets and it at least as accurate as I am.

Thanks, but I was looking for a more definitive answer. I finally got one from CCI:

Dave: the 0032 is most often sold in the US and the 0035 in Europe. In
some instances the 0035 (1100+ fps) has been loaded to a higher velocity
and some target guns do not function it as well as they do the 0032
(1070 fps).

Share and enjoy!
