hay guys. i installed a Wolff 22lb. recoil spring in my K40 Kahr the other day. tension on the slide feels much better when hand working the slide. shooting, it is not denting brass as bad as it did. recoil is also less. i have not seen any signs of battering the front part of the gun's lockup and since it is only 2 lb. more than factory i don't think i will. i bought my K40 used so it may have been due for a spring change anyway. gun is shooting and ejecting very well now and i think 22lbs. may be a good pressure for full power 165 grain loads.

riddleofsteel: (cool handle!) I have a Kahr-40 I bought new and it has been a real beater of the brass since day one. Thanks for the suggestion on an extra power spring. I'll give it a try. I also have noticed firing pin drag marks on the primers, much like the S&Ws do, but even more pronounced. Otherwise, it's been a great little gun for those occasions when you just have to go small but know better than to even THINK "Mousegun"...!!! 'Nuff said...stay safe.
