226 question?

I heard that a 226 9mm hi-cap can be used in 40cal/357sig 226 to get 12 round capacity and fuction perfectly. Has any one else heard or tried this? Since factory 226 40cal/357sig Hi-caps are not to be found!

For Rugers, It can be done with a Ruger P85 magazine if a 40 cal. follower is used in lieu of the 9mm one. I suppose it can also be done with a Sig. Haven't tried it on either firearm.

I loaded up a 9mm 17rd mecgar mag with 12rds of 40S&W for you double tap.And since I do not have a 226 in 40 I inserted it into my 229. It locked into place and cycled manually through all 12 rds without a problem. I will try it out at the range over the weekend and let you know how it goes. It seems like it will work to me. G.R.

Double tap, It worked ran two mags of 40S&W through the 229 using a 17rd mecgar mag not a problem . Bought my mecgar mags on auction arms www.auctionarms.com think you will have to have the 17rd mags to get 12rd capacity though. G.R.
