.223 & Spinner Experiences

I recently purchased a spinner rated for larger calibers - 9mm - .30-06. The information sheet (warnings sheet) in the box states for .223 the minimum recommended distance is 200 yds.

On the one hand I understand not following those types of warnings is asking for possibly serious trouble. On the other hand, I'm interested in getting other people's experiences with shooting steel with a .223. If you do so - at what distance do you shoot? And whatever the distance - have you had significant issues with ricochets? Is the 200 yd min a practical recommendation or one that fits along the lines of ladder manufacturers reminding people that the platform that holds the paint can is "Not A Step"? LOL

Thanks.

I shoot steel with a center fire rifle at 100 yards frequently no problem and much closer than that with a rimfire or handgun. So long as it swings when it's hit so that ricochets don't come straight back at you.
