.223 OAL w/Cannelure

Seating the bullet so that the cannelure is just below or even with the 1.750" case neck results in an OAL of 2.250" from base to tip of bullet.
I am crimping these rounds to be used in my new MSR (modern sporting rifle).
Anyone run into this same situation?
How did they shoot?

2.25" OAL should be fine. It fits the magazine and unless your rifle has very short throat it should operate. 2.26" is the SAAMI OAL.
That is the length that I load to (2.25") and I haven't had a problem.

2.260" is the maximum for guaranteed fit in all magazines in guns chambered for this round. 2.125" is the minimum for guaranteed feed from all magazines in guns chambered for this round. If you are loading singly, rather than from a magazine, you can use any COL you determine that your chamber likes. Just be aware that changes in seating depth do affect peak pressure with any given charge weight.

For pressure purposes:

Seating Depth = SAAMI max case length + bullet length - COL
