This is from cartridges of the world--Introduced in 1959 but didn't market a gun to shoot the round till well into the following year.However Ruger & S&W made pistols for the round the same year.Savege chambered their model 24 in it and Winchester made the model 61 as the first rifle of their manufactureing for the round.Its a more powerfull version of the old 22 WRF round.Hope this helps a little.About all I can find.
