Winchester 9422 M, .22 magnum
1974 Marlin .22 Original Golden - 39A

I have several .22 rifles and wondering what to make of them. Last two are lever. Any thoughts on which is better shooting etc.

I think you should be very capable of answering your own question here. 22 ammo is inexpensive and available everywhere you can buy ammunition, go out and shoot them and find out how they shoot.

Provided they were all well taken care of over the course of their existences, they will all probably shoot very well.

Marlin Claims the Marlin 39A is the oldest and longest continuously produced shouldered firearm in the world, Marlin has been manufacturing them for 122 years now. They also have a reputation for being among the most accurate production .22 rifles ever produced. Yours will in all likelihood shoot great.

The Savage will be the most accurate by far. The Winchester will be the most expensive to shoot. The Marlin will be the most fun.

Yep, I'm on my way to the range - kind of. I live in Chicago, but my father used to call it Shi_-cago - but add a "t" in there.

I go up to the range in MI, but there are so many guns he left, I have been trying to shoot for weeks now, but kids and wife always get in the way!

The action on that Marlin is so smooth and the Winchester looks nice. I will go and shoot them.

Send them to me, I will shoot them and let you know.:D:D

I love lever guns. That 9422 sounds like fun to me.

Got to love the. 22lr rifles its what almost all of us learned to shoot with an d is a inexpensive very fun and very versatile round..all those guns should be good shooters take them to the range and have some fun..

Only shot a 39a from list. Now own one. Can't comment on others, but would love a second 39a. Have semi-auto marlin/glenfield model 60. Fun & reliable. Like it. Love the 39a. 39a prob last rifle i would ever part with. Just my $.02

You will never know for sure which is the most accurate until you shoot them. As for wife and kids getting in the way, heck take them to the range with you. My Marlin Golden 39A(long gone, Stupid, stupid stupid move) was the most accurate .22 I have ever owned, it was long and heavy but man it would shoot. The only Win 9422 I ever shot was very nice but not as accurate. Don't know what to expect on the older savage, except that it would hold "minute of squirrell" with no problems. They may well all need a good cleaning to get the most out of them. And I wish .22 LR ammo was as cheap and easily available as it was a year ago.

The Savage model 19 NRA is a bolt action target rifle with fully adjustable target sights. It will be the most accurate of the three.

I'm basicly a Winchester guy, bur I do own a few others.
1. Winchester 1890 .22 L
2. Winchester 1890 .22 S
3. Winchester 1906 .22 S/L/LR
4. Winchester 90 .22WRF
5. Winchester 1890/1906 .22 S/L/LR (Uncle's-reciever & barrel=1890 & the back half is from a 1906 & therefore will shoot S/L/LR. I mostly rebuilt it including relining the barrel.
6. Remington Special .22WRF
7. Ruger 10-22 .22
8. Henery .22
9 Marlin 39A .22S/L/LR
10. Mossberg 44US .22
