From what I gather, the Tyrol 5022 was made in the 1950s as an Austrian-made competitor to the German-made Anscutz, Walthers and Mauser sporter rifles at a time when the German-made rifles were becoming prohibitively expensive. I have read they are very accurate and handle well.
