.22 Race guns

PLASTIC SIG

I see people building .22 race guns on the net for what seems to be plate shooting. I didnt know a .22 could even knock over a steel plate.

My question is. What are these .22's with modified trigger's, barrels, sights/scopes,ECT. able to compete in? Maybe they are using plates other than steel.

Ive never seen any .22 competetion other than bullseye. So im clueless.

Thanks in advance for any insight.

well- not Chevy anymore, but Sports Afield Team Challenge
The steel is not the normal thick, heavy steel you see, it's generally a half inch thick steel on hinges. They fall over easily.
Also, high velocity 22s can knock over the standard 6 inch steel circles, if you hit them high enough, and you're about 20 feet from them.

The fancy race 22s are very nice. I love all mine.
I just wish I had a team that functioned as well as my guns.

Bowling pins of course

Where I shoot pins we have a .22 night every now and again. We'll use heads cut off of pins, or mini metal plates that look like pins. Dot sighted pins rule the event, iron sights don't even come close. Some guys even puts bolt on comps on thier .22, and they worked. Then on ocasion we'll use full size pins set on the back of the table, then things go very fast.

Also they make a great small game hunting pistol.

Good day
