You will have less maneuverability and a little more weight with the 24" barrel. Also, I don't feel much, if any, accuracy is gained by utilizing the 24 incher.
I think a .223 gets full burn at just under 22 inches, so a 24 may be over kill, and a 22" just right. I doubt any extra velocity/accuracy will be gained from the 24- but i dont have the #'s infront of me.
