22 Lr in a 22mag?

It can. It is not supposed to be. It will split and hot gases will go where they are not supposed to. Don't do it!! Quantrill

There not designed to fire in the same chamber, thats why gun manufacturer's usually supply a .22 long cylinder that fits the .22 magnum gun.

you will probably have a lot of misfires because the 22 lr rim is thinner than a magnum rim and the fring pin might not reach the rim. as mentioned before the case will probably split if it does go off

I have a S&W model 51 in 22mag that my little boy was wanting to shoot, and I didn't have any ammo but 22Lr. I'll what till i get some. Thanks for the info.
