Reckon what this cylinder goes to? It's 1 3/8's inches long....22 LR on side....Ruger single six?

Looks like a Ruger "old model" but I don't recall them being marked ".22LR" My old model Single Six isn't marked as such.

The LR cylinder on my Single Six is recessed like that. But neither is engraved as to type, or anything.
You need to compare side by side with a known brand cylinder. I would start with a Ruger.

the slots for the bolt look a little wide for a Ruger and I don't think Ruger cylinders are marked with the caliber. Colt New Frontier maybe?

My SWAG on this, is that it's a Colt.

Look at the face on the discharge end of the cylinder. If it's a Ruger, you will see three numbers hand engraved on it's face. That will indicate the last three number of the serial number. ....

Going down to check my Colt ???

.

I've never seen a Colt or a Ruger Single-Six cylinder with the chambering laser-etched on the outside surface like that.

I'm thinking it's from one of the imported .22 SA revolvers.

I'm getting nowhere fast....hahaa....Probably the Ruger single six has only the magnum cylinder marked....The Colt may also....Maybe I need to do some searching on Gunbroker and just look at pics....The blueing made me think it wasn't just from a cheap quality revolver....I gave 10 bucks for it..fella did'nt know what it was for....It would have been better if it were the magnum cylinder....Oh well...

I'm still going with Colt !!!

Keg,
Sorry to take so long but I just checked my Colt and it's a good match, down to the length of the cylinder. Turn your cylinder and tell me how many times you see the .22LR designation. Now, it still may not be "my" Colt model but it's so close, that I'm still going with Colt. If it's not a Colt. ....

Good luck and;

It's not a Ruger. The Single Six convertibles' 22LR cylinders are not marked for cartridge. The 22LR cylinder is fluted and the mag cylinder is unfluted with "22 MAGNUM CAL" and the Ruger eagle roll marked around the outside rear of the cylinder. The breach of the cylinder is also wrong for a Ruger. Single Six cylinders are recessed though.

Pahoo..It's a Colt....Looks like they all are marked 22 LR....May all interchange?

Perhaps not all ???

Your Ruger might be an older one and do not know when they started etching them or "really" why? All the ones I run into, are etched but will have to look at some more, at the next GS. I know a Ruger "expert" that is really informed on these. .... ;)

Sadly, to much of what I use to know, has been forgotten. .... :(

Attatchment in #14 was a Peacemaker..but I found 22 LR on Peacemaker..Scout..and New Frontier....Funny thing..It was'nt consistant....Marked em sometimes and sometimes not?

I wish I had the mag cylinder for mine !!!

Keg,
My Peacemaker, is actually "stamped" in three place, 120-Deg. apart. If you go into GunBroker or Ebay and type; Colt cylinder 22 or .22, you will see additional pictures that show the same features, in your pictures. ..... :)
Take note on what they are asking for them ... ;)
