i SAW A 22 HORNET REV.SIMILAR TO A FREEDOM ARMS 454,I FORGET THE COMPANY,DOES ANYONE HAVE ONE?ARE THEY ANY GOOD?

I saw a taurus tracker in .17hmr at the gun show I was at yesterday.
It was a little over $300.00 if I remember correctly.
A little gunsmithing would go a long way on this model.
Maybe next year.
IIRC, the raging hornet was around $600.00 new, and is quite large. The .17 HMR tracker is quite a bit smaller, and prolly just as effective.
I tried reloading for .22 hornet a few years back, and from what I remember, it was a harsh mistress.

Although not actually on the market, I have read/heard that Ruger may chamber thier SBH Hunter in 22 Hornet for 2003.

You gotta remember that $999 is 'suggested retail'.
Odds are dealer cost is gonna be around $650-750 so you may actually be able to take it home for about $800 or so, depending on your dealer.
That still ain't cheap, but I would bet that it's very accurate, and with a pussycat like the .22 Hornet it will surely last forever.
And, the strength is there so you could definitely cook up some scorchers with heavier bullets than available commercially.
I would definitely be more willing to buy a single action gun than DA in .22 Hornet.

JMHO, -Kframe

I do like SA handguns, and have always liked .22 hornets, but I have always assumed that they didn't work that well together.
I had a ruger 77/22vhz that couldn't hit the broad side of a barn standing on top of it.
I gave up on the little much-liked .22 hornet.
Does anyone else have good luck with the little round??
It wouldnt take much 'arm-twisting' to get me to try it again with a specific model that has a good reputation.
I guess with the flurry of new guns coming out in .17hmr, why not more interest in .22 hornet?
