.22 bolt action

What are some competitions that you can shoot without a disadvantage with a .22 bolt action? I finally have a rifle (a very nice CZ) and a gun that I can afford ammo with to get up to a competitive level.

Problem is, most .22 competitions I know of involve timing and seem to prefer semi-auto over bolt action.

What's out there?

Start with what goes on at the specific competition near you.

Go there and watch what the competitors are shooting. Many matches are quite friendly and if your patient they will show you what they use and how.

Also it's a place to buy a used target rifle.

We shoot the .22 LR in weekly matches at 50ft on Thursday nights and prone matches are held at 50 and 100 yds outdoors.

See if there's any .22 rifle Silhouette type matches in your area.
Shooting at small steel knock down targets, shaped like critters, at distances from 25 to 100 yds.
Bolt actions are fine for them.
Lots more fun than shooting at circles on paper.
