22 auto scope? budget sub $100

Looking for a scope on my 22lr rifle. 200 yards max thats pushing it.

I seen some ncstars "poor man acog" for around $80 which reviews seem good.


Do any of you guys have <100-120< scopes/sights/acog's that you really like?

I was reading there was some $35 scopes! that got like 3/5 stars and held good for 22lrs.
 
A bushnell banner 3-9 x 40 or a 4-12 x40 should run you well under a $100. They are decent for the price, I have a few on 22 rifles and they have held up well.
 
I saw those with 3.3 inch eye relief or 6, which is better? and what does that mean. I am new to scopes.

I never like my eye up close on a scope feel like the gun will come back and smack out my eye.

I had a couple of extra 22's without scopes and I put BSA 4 powers from Walmart on them. The price must've been around $30, and they worked just fine. My 'good' 22's all have Leupold 2x7's on them. If you want something better than BSA's, I'm guessing that you could prowl some gunshows and find some used Weaver 4 powers fairly cheap, and they'll last forever.

Eye relief is the distance between your eye and the scope - typically, the longer the better.

Ya know...I don't think you need to worry too much about eye relief on a 22 LR scope. Not much chance that recoil is gonna rock the 22 rifle back and give you an upside down smiley face above your eye. Get one of those reasonably cheap 22 rimfire Cabela scopes that has the bullet drop dots for 75 and 100 yards.
 
I put a Simmons 22Mag scope on one of my 10/22s and it functions beautifully as a squirrel gun. I can pick off squirrels at 75 yards all day long with it. I think the eye relief on it is right around 3.5 or 4 inches.

Cost... $60 NIB.

If you want to spend a little more you can get a low end Nikon and that'll be more than what you'll need for your typical/average .22lr uses.

Btw if you need a scope with bullet drop measurements etc. for a .22lr you're probably shooting out further than you should be with a .22lr.

Even when shooting my ex-wife's fine china plates at 200 yards I don't use a bullet drop comp. I just aim WAY above the plates! :p

Seriously though that Simmons does perfectly fine for me when I'm perforating pumpkins, watermelons or any other large vegetable I can find at 200 yards with my 10/22. Sure I sometimes miss and my grouping is about the size of the vegetable but hey I seriously wouldn't shoot at any game with a .22lr at 200 yards.

Thats what I liked to get, is a bullet drop dot but need the scope for 200 yards(MAX) I like to learn at 100-150 yards. I use the iron's for 50
