I'm leaning towards trying my 22/45 vs. bowling pins. Any secrets to knocking over the pins with a 22? Everyone uses the bigger calibers, so with some useful tips, I might just try my 22.

Hit them dead center on the "head" of the pin. The maximum force of the bullet will be transfered to the pin. The higher up you hit the more leverage to move the pins center of gravity you will have.

Generally, the pins are set up at the back edge of the table as .22 can only knock them over. That way they leave the table, slowly but surely. I like CCI Velociters on pins as they have more "oomph" for the work. At our outdoor shoots, we use the cut-off "pin-heads". Way fun. They react to a .22 the way a whole pin reacts to a .45.
