.22/.25 Semi or SA Revolver "larger" bore for SD/HD?

Just for fun: You're in a convenience store and a BG walks in with a gun. What would you rather have? A .22lr or .25acp semi or a .38sp or larger single action revolver? Not taking size of the gun into the equation of coarse.

And no, larger semi's and DA revolvers are not part of this poll.
