219 zipper

I have a zipper with a 201 serial number that dates it to 1900. It's odd to me that the barrel states model 64, and the receiver states model 94. Any opinion? Ammo?

Somebody put an M64 barrel on an M94. Same rifle.
There's no factory ammo or brass available at this time. However, Old Western Scrounger(OWS) had ammo made out of .30-30 brass at $39.95 per 20. You could buy the case forming die$ and make it.

If the barrel says Model 64, somebody screwed a different barrel into the receiver. Plain and simple. If it had been made as a Model 94, the barrel would say Model 94.

The .219 Zipper was introduced in 1937 in the model 64 varmint version. Production ended after WWII.

It is entirely possible an "old" 94 action was rebarreled to .219 Zipper using a model 64 marked barrel. Although why one would do that I have no idea. Stranger things have happened.

The Zipper is nothing to sneeze at, I have data showing a couple of load 55gr cracking 3500 from a 27" bolt gun. Model 64s (and 94) are not normally accurate enough to match bolt guns as varmint rifles, and are not easily scoped, or stocked for a scope. But as an opensight pest gun with about no recoil they can be handy.
