Hi All,
I'm new here and have a question on live 1942 20mm mk2 shell . My question is does anyone know how much it's worth? I found this in the dirt when I was under a mobile home doing air conditioning repairs.
And help would be appreciated.

Worth of live 20mm shell

I could be worth your hands, your eyes, or your LIFE if it detonates, you need to contact an EOD or Bomb Disposal guy to come over and get that thing away from you and your loved ones. Seriously, old ordnance can either be inert or deadly, no way to tell. Don't move it, play with or touch it until they get there.

+2 get it gone, dont play with it, it is a 20 mm round, cant tell if it is HE or ball, but it doesnt look like a training round, they are blue tipped. Follow advice above, get rid of it.

What they said.

Look, old shells like this that were stored in bad conditions as this one clearly was are trouble. The powder charge has decayed. Total power will go down BUT some of it could go "unstable"...as in "turns into something a lot like primer".

One good shake or drop and it could go boom and there IS enough remaining power there to kill somebody if it's not inert.

And it damned well looks live to me!

I agree with the others that you need to get this round checked out and confirmed as to just what it is. The risks are just to high to assume.

Not only could it be worth your hands, eyes, and LIFE, as another said, but it could cause risk to another person who doesnt know. Better to be safe then sorry with something like this.

Value is negative. As in, you should be ready and willing to PAY somebody to get rid of it for you. Fortunately, paying somebody shouldn't be required, but you're a damned fool to be messing with such.
